LEARN TO SKATE PROGRAM OUTLINE:

The HUSKIES Learn to Skate (LTS) program is for Boy’s and Girl’s age 3 and over who want to learn how to skate. This is an entry level program that requires no previous skating ability and no commitment to move on to Ice hockey.  This is a fun and organized program that will teach your child the basics of skating. The program meets once a week  at 8am (day is Under review) for 1 hour.  Instructors are all USA Hockey certified.

Parents with strong skating ability are welcome on the ice for LTS but will need skates, Hockey Helmet & USA Hockey registration www.usahockeyregistration.com

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Lessons start in November  
  •  morning for 1 hour
  • Walkers available to get kids started

REQUIREMENTS

  • Skates & Hockey Helmet
    • Elbow pads, shin pads, hockey paints & gloves not required but strongly recommended
  • USA Hockey registration

LEARN TO PLAY PROGRAM OUTLINE:

The HUSKIES Learn to Play (LTP) program is for Boy’s and Girl’s who have completed a LTS program and are ready to take the next step towards organized Ice Hockey. This program is designed to reinforce the skills developed in LTS and add the skills needed to play hockey. The program runs early mornings days TBD.  Each lesson builds on the next, and is a combination of drills & games derived mostly from USA Hockey’s Skill Development Manual. The focus of this program is skills development and creating a fun environment for kids to learn.

HIGHLIGHTS

  • mornings for 1 hour Starting in November
  • Focus on Skills through drills and small area games
  • USA Hockey Certified coaches

REQUIREMENTS

  • Full hockey equipment & stick (mouth guard required)
  • USA Hockey registration
