The Huskies have spots in the 2017-18 season for NH youth hockey players who love Hockey, but may not love the high price tag! Please contact Laura Urban for questions about our program and how to be a part of our upcoming season. firstname.lastname@example.org
The Henniker Huskies Hockey program accepts players from Mites through Bantams. We have players from all over NH, with current players being from Concord, Greenfield, Peterborough, Henniker, Hopkinton, Hillsboro, Sutton, Weare, etc. and are happy to welcome anyone who would like to try out for the 2017-2018 season.
Our home arena is Lee Clement Arena at New England College in Henniker.
When parents look into having their child join the Huskies they are pleasantly surprised by our low fees! The Henniker Youth Hockey Association charges far less than others in the Concord and Manchester area and there is still a ton of Hockey played! Many ask, how can you charge so much less? What does my player receive?
Q1: What does my tuition pay for at Henniker?
A: Ice time -The most expensive element of Hockey. Each team has 2-3, one hour long practices per week. Each weekend there are 2 games on average. About 50% of those games are home games and the others are throughout NH with the occasional Vermont, Massachusetts or Maine game. Organizations who charge less have their ice time donated to them.
B: Tournament Fees – Your tuition includes entry into the state tournament if the team makes it or another tournament of the team’s choice. Many organizations charge additional fees on top of your tuition for these activities.
Q2: What are you not paying for at Henniker, but still getting?
A: Coaches – our coaches have real life hockey experience and are USA Hockey certified. Organizations with higher fees are paying for the coaches, but for the Huskies, our coaches are all volunteers. Each team has multiple coaches who are able to work with the players on skill development.
